Introduction: The range of motion (ROM) of the joints plays an important role in sports performance and dynamic and static elongation can improve this range, decreasing muscle stiffness and increasing flexibility.
Objective: Compare the effects of dynamic stretching with static stretching after exercise on ROM in basically active adults.
Material and Methods: The PICO question was used to formulate the eligibility criteria for the different articles, MeSH and specific concepts were used for the search, then a selection of articles under these criteria, identifying them using the PRISMA method.
Results: Articles were found referring to static elongation and how it had positive effects on ROM after exercise, however, no articles were found referring to dynamic elongation and its effects on ROM after exercise.
Conclusion: Not enough articles were found regarding the topic investigated, so they are insufficient to provide reliable results.
